On the 16th of March 2018, the pilot trial of the train-the-trainer HEIRRI programme called „Facilitating reflection on Responsible Research and Innovation“, was held at the University of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was a one-day workshop aimed at higher education teachers and other academic and non-academic staff.
Participants introduced themselves through a short round of speed dating, after which they watched HEIRRI video on aging. The video sparked a deep discussion on matters of inequality and technology advancement. Ana Marušić, HEIRRI partner at University of Split, then held a short introductory presentation on RRI, after which participants were divided into groups to play the card exchange game.
After a short break, Ružica Tokalić, also HEIRRI member at University of Split, led a Five corners activity, which inspired participants to recognize good teaching practices and come up with their own ideas on best course designs for RRI.
The workshop gathered 33 participants. They came from a variety of disciplines and expressed great interest in applying workshop experience to their teaching and work. They were particularly interested in using the HEIRRI materials at their higher education institutions in the future.
