The HEIRRI project is one of the many initiatives around Europe that deal with the concept of RRI. HEIRRI is focused on how to link RRI with Higher Education Curricula, as it responded to the Topic “SEAC. 2.2014, Responsible Research and Innovation in Higher Education Curricula”.

Very similar in its objectives is the also H2020 project “Enhancing Responsible Research and Innovation through Curricula in Higher Education” (EnRRICH). The aim of this initiative is to improve the RRI capacity of both students and staff of Higher Education Institutions (HEI). EnRRICH has a Consortium of eleven HEI, a research institute and an NGO, all of them coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In brief, EnRRICH will help HEI students and staff “to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to support the embedding of RRI in curricula by responding to the research needs of society”.

Also relevant in the field of RRI, although not specifically of HEI, is the RRI Tools project. This huge initiative has 26 partners from 19 European countries, all of them with relevant experience in all different aspects of RRI. The aim of the RRI Tools project is “to empower all actors to contribute their share to the RRI initiative” and, as its final outcome, “develop a set of digital resources to advocate, train, disseminate and implement RRI under Horizon 2020”.
