Prof. Roger Strand, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the University of Bergen, the European Centre for Governance in Complexity and member of the HEIRRI Consortium, will be giving the seminar Responsibility in research from the co-production perspective on the 25th October 2017 in Barcelona in the framework of the Master in Biomedical Research (BIOMED – UPF).

Description of the session:
In the research field called “Science and Technology Studies”, it is a central insight that scientific, technological and societal development are closely entangled into each other: Science, technology and society are co-produced, and decisions about one affect the other two. This insight has slowly made its way to official European research policy under the label of “Responsible Research and Innovation”, RRI. In this seminar, Roger Strand will explain the co-production perspective and show some examples of how RRI is becoming implemented within life science and biotechnology.
