Spanish universities have been working for some time in the definition and management of their social responsibility, in the response to society – and its stakeholders – of the impacts generated by their organization, teaching, research and renewal of their social commitment. The Second Conference on University Social Responsibility (USR) and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) are consolidated as a forum for meeting, debate and reflection on how to implement social responsibility management in organizations and how to establish spaces for participation and dialogue between the different experiences. The first day will focus on the discussion of the different strategies of institutionalization of the USR, while the second day will focus on the innovations that are emerging in the dialogue between science and society in favour of more responsible research and innovation. Thus, following the outline of the first conference, the first session will focus on the current state of USR, while the second session will be devoted to RRI.

The seminars are sponsored by the Rector’s Commissioner for the Development of University Social Responsibility and the Communication and Publications Service of the Universitat Jaume I, with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

Gema Revuelta, professor at Pompeu Fabra University, director of the Science, Communication and Society Study Centre (Pompeu Fabra University, UPF) and coordinator of the HEIRRI project, will participate as a speaker on the 30th November session “Responsible Research and Innovation: innovation in the science-society dialogue”.
